Statement from the CCAC Executive Director
Dear CCAC stakeholders,
I wish to inform you that I am stepping down as the Executive Director of the Canadian Council on Animal Care effective May 19, 2017 to pursue other opportunities.
I am humbled and honoured to have worked with many great Canadians across the country on CCAC’s initiatives. I would especially like to take this opportunity to thank the CCAC Board of Directors for their encouragement and support for the past three years, particularly during the organization’s transition to a new governance structure, funding model and in developing the CCAC’s Strategic Plan 2015-2020. The enduring commitment of these men and women has made it possible for the CCAC to have already achieved many of its goals.
I would also like to thank all of the volunteers across Canada who generously contributed their time and expertise in support of the CCAC’s mandate; their contribution is invaluable. I would especially like to thank the CCAC Secretariat staff for their continued support and commitment through the transformation of the organization.
It has been an honour to work alongside a diverse network of stakeholders and partners, who together share a common goal of enhancing animal ethics and care in Canadian science. I thank you for the opportunity to work with you; I have grown tremendously from the experience. I wish you much success in further advancing the goals set out in the strategic plan.
