CCAC Releases New Husbandry Guidelines

Cover of the Husbandry Guidelines document

The CCAC guidelines: Husbandry of animals in science is now available. These guidelines cover all things related to animal husbandry, from proper handling to feeding and bedding practices, and will be fundamental to those working with animals housed in scientific facilities. The CCAC has also developed an accompanying document, the CCAC frequently asked questions: Husbandry of animals in science, to help institutions effectively implement these guidelines.

Superseding those husbandry-related guidelines within the CCAC’s Guide to the Care and Use of Experimental Animals, volume 1, 2nd ed., the CCAC guidelines: Husbandry of animals in science was revised in an effort to deliver the most up-to-date information possible to CCAC’s program participants.
