Education and Training
All personnel involved with the ethical use of animals in science must be competent and adequately trained in the principles of ethical use and care of animals, and an appropriate training program is an essential component of any institutional animal care and use program.
However, animal users (including investigators, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and research staff), animal health professionals, animal care committee members and institutional officials (senior administrators) directly responsible for animal care and use programs have different educational and training needs.
Therefore, the CCAC develops different educational and reference materials to support the training needs of all these audiences, or makes materials available through external links. These resources and events include the training syllabus, training modules and other educational materials, workshops, and web-based seminars.
