Introducing the CCAC Certificate of
Good Animal Practice
Following its acceptance by Council at its September 28 meeting, the Certificate of Good Animal Practice will be awarded to all institutions having achieved a Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) status of Compliance or Conditional Compliance. This certificate was developed by the CCAC's Assessment Committee in order to recognize and reward institutions that maintain sound animal care and use programs. It is a tangible and visible symbol of the efforts invested by institutions and their staff members to follow CCAC guidelines and policies. It is expected that this Certificate will be a very useful tool for institutions to demonstrate, on a national and an international basis, that they meet the high standards of animal care and use set by the CCAC. We hope that everyone involved in the animal care and use programs of institutions receiving this Certificate will take pride in their achievement.
