REQUEST

Animal care committees of institutions licensed to use WebCT 3.8.2 or earlier versions can request the WebCT version of the Core Topics Modules by contacting ccac@ccac.ca. Please make sure you meet the requirements and provide the following information:

Requirements:

  • Your institution must already have a valid WebCT license.
  • When submitting your request, please indicate which WebCT version your institution uses.
  • The request must be submitted by your institutional animal care committee.
  • Once your request has been approved, an e-mail will be sent containing the information necessary for downloading the appropriate set of files (either the WebCT or HTML version), depending on your system.

Installation instructions:

  • Downloading and subsequent installation of the course modules should be handled by your institution's IT personnel.
  • For WebCT version 3.8.2, the course modules may be downloaded and incorporated directly into WebCT "as is". The proprietary WebCT unzip tool must be used to extract the archive once it has been downloaded; WinZip or a similar tool will NOT work.
  • For WebCT versions other than 3.8.2, the course content will be made available as a series of HTML files that will need to be imported into WebCT; the course will have to be built using these files. WinZip should be used to unzip this archive after it has been downloaded.
  • Other than the format, both versions are virtually identical and are totally FREE of charge.

*Please note: Sample questions are provided at the end of each module. However, your animal care committee may also request a complete set of questions and answers (in MS Word format) for student evaluation purposes. These questions and answers are not to be made public and should be stored in a secure location.

**Technical Support: Unfortunately, the CCAC does not have the necessary resources to offer technical support for WebCT. However, we can provide information for you to contact a resource person should the need for assistance arise.
